Why a Lawyer?

Legal success strongly depends on a foresighted start and continuing support by an attorney/lawyer experienced also in negotiation and litigation. Otherwise legal deadlines may be definitely missed or, irrevocable mistakes happen or the problem remains unsolved. Therefore we recommend that you get in touch with us at a very early stage.

We do not promise "easy and fast" solutions at a flat rate, as we consider this to be neither realistic nor serious. We offer flat rates in certain areas only, such as for the review of an agreement or a reference letter. Please scroll down to also read about our qualification.

What is a Lawyer / Attorney at Law in Switzerland?

T. Villiger is lawyer and Attorney at Law as well as Certified Specialist SBA Labour Law. This qualification needs about 9 -10 years of education, legal practise and continuing education.

In Switzerland, the occupational titles "Anwalt" or "Rechsanwalt"  are legally protected and require a swiss university degree as well as an additional formation as Attorney at Law. These titles correspond to the english term "Attorney at Law", which permitts the holders to represent parties before court.

The title "Fachanwalt SAV Arbeitsrecht" (Certified Specialist SBA Labour Law) which is issued by the Swiss Bar Association to Attorneys at Laws having gained further years of professional experience and passed additional exams in labour law, is protected as well.

However, denominations such as "Jurist", "Rechtsberater" "Rechtsvertreter" or "Rechtskonsulent" are not protected at all and just denominate persons who offer legal services, similar to the terms "Legal Counsel" and "Lawyer".

What are our attorney fees / costs?

Our services will be charged on a time basis, while all administrative services are included. We inform our clients in advance of the chances of success as well as of the approximate costs which might incur, in order to enable the client to make a cost-benefit analysis. In general, attorney fees strongly depend on the give-and-take of both conflicting parties and - in cases before a court - of the sum in dispute

For certain matters, such as for the review of an agreement or a reference letter a flat rate can be considered.

Due to our independency, no additional online lawyer platform fees are due (those might be > 10%), and we therefore act in line with the rules of the Swiss Bar Association (further info).

We normally do not consult individuals with domicile outside Switzerland.
